The Best Photo for an Ozil Goal AI Video

The AI keeps what it can see in your photo: your face, hair, skin tone and clothes. It takes every movement from the goal itself. So the photo decides how much the video looks like you. These tips come from our own test renders.

What works

A large, clear face

This is the one rule that matters most. A selfie or a half-body photo where your face fills a good part of the frame works best. Even light, looking roughly at the camera.

In our tests, photos where the face was small, such as a full-body shot from a distance, gave the worst results: in the close-up shots the face drifted towards someone else's. A large face fixed it.

Half-body is fine

You do not need a head-to-toe photo. If the photo stops at the waist, the AI finishes your outfit below the waist with trousers or a skirt and trainers in colours that match what it can see.

One person, nothing on the face

Crop out other people. Take off sunglasses, hats and masks, and keep your hands away from your face. Anything covering the face makes the likeness drift.

An outfit that is not a football kit

The clip is funniest when the scorer looks nothing like a footballer. A cardigan, a suit, a dress or a hoodie beats a kit, and the video keeps the clothes from your photo.

What to avoid

• Plain green or plain white tops. The defenders in the clip wear green and the keeper wears white. A top in those colours makes it harder to tell you apart.
• Group photos. The AI cannot tell which person you mean.
• Heavy filters and beauty effects. They change the face the AI copies.
• Low-light or blurry photos. Blur in, blur out.
• AI-generated portraits. In our tests an AI-made full-body portrait drifted, while a real selfie held up.

Quick checklist

1. One person, face large and in focus.
2. Selfie or half-body, even light.
3. Nothing over the face.
4. Not green, not white, ideally not sportswear.
5. JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB.
